New Hire 4
4x3 is happy to announce our latest hire, Liza Mansour. Liza grew up in Muscat, Oman, where she attended an International Baccalaureate School. She comes to us by way of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she majored in graphic design.
Liza commutes to our Ardmore office from her home in South Philly. (Her favorite thing so far about Ardmore—besides us—is Maido, a Japanese market on Lancaster Ave.) She agreed to take a few minutes from her Web design and branding work to answer a few questions.
What first got you interested in graphic design?
My interest in graphic design started when I was in middle school. I would design websites for fun, but these interests didn’t fully grow until I was studying branding and user interface design in college.
How are you able to pursue those interests at 4x3?
4x3 has allowed me to express my creativity and passion for UI design by giving me several projects such as creating the look and feel for Healthcope, Tri-Supply & Equipment, and many more clients.
What have you found most interesting about working at 4x3 so far?
The most interesting part about working at 4x3 has been the ability to design for many different mediums. I love UI design, but also find print design to be just as fascinating.
Has anything surprised you about the job?
By having 4x3 as the first job to start my career, I have realized how difficult it can be to work with clients that are very particular with how they want something designed. Working here is a new experience to me, and I’m sure there will be many surprises in the future.
Do you like being a programmer as well as a designer?
I’ve always had an interest in coding websites as well as designing the interfaces. Coding can be challenging, but that’s what I believe makes it fun. It’s almost like trying to solve a puzzle, and when the design I’ve created comes to life, it’s a great feeling.
What would you have said two years ago if someone told you you would be designing rugby balls?
I probably would have not believed them. Even though sports is not an interest of mine, I still find it helpful to explore my skills through different mediums and subjects.
After over twenty years in the real estate business, owning and managing my own small company with a dozen agents, I have moved to a new position here at 4x3.
In 1998, when I opened CUSTOM Real Estate, there was not much need for a "Social Media and Marketing Assistant", because there was no such thing as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Most all of our marketing dollars were spent on newspaper advertising...today, major newspapers across the country are halting their presses. Information is available 24 hours a day, at your desk or on your phone. Times, they are a changing...and I needed to change with them.
Today, I am in a new position, in a new city, in a new enviroment. It brings to mind one of my favorite Bible verses: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Is. 43:18
There are lots of "new things" going on here at 4x3. New employees. New clients. New ideas. New websites ready to launch. It's a delightful, creative enviorment to work in every day. I am doing a new thing and I am really grateful.

Rachel Schmitz, Junior Graphic Designer
Rachel Schmitz as the most recent addition to our team as a Junior Graphic Designer. Rachel, a 2012 graduate of Tyler School of Art at Temple University, will be utilizing her skills collaborating on both print and interactive creative projects. Rachel's passion for both design and technology are a perfect fit for 4x3.
Marti Evans, Social Media and Marketing Assistant
Marti comes to 4x3 with a strong background in business marketing and promotion and recent social media experience. Marti will be working with clients on content development, news and press as well as taking control of 4x3's social media clients.
4x3 would like to announce the hiring of Mark Griffith, a Copywriter and Social Media Specialist.
Mark is a recent graduate of Temple University, where he earned a degree in Advertising with a focus on Copywriting. Writing is a passion for Mark, and he is excited to put it to use at 4x3.
Digital and Social Media
With the ever evolving landscape of digital and social media, it is vital to stay ahead of the curve and remain in the know. Mark is looking forward to perfecting his writing abilities, while mastering the inner workings of social media, and use those skills to benefit both 4x3 and thier clients. Mark brings a young creative energy into the office, and while he still has a lot to learn, his eagerness to do so is apparent every day.
