Great design is not just type and layout, often a project requires photography or illustration as a key component and the best solution is not always the most obvious.
MRI Network hired 4x3 to layout and design an advertorial scheduled to appear in USA Today's June 2017 insert magazine highlighting the company's top recruiting offices. Each award-winning office listed featured exceptional recruiters in an effort to provide recognition and inspire other offices.
To make matters more challenging, the recruiters for the article were scattered acrosss the country. In order to overcome the challenge of inconsistency in photographs and logistics of hiring one photographer, we reached out to famed illustrator Randy Glass to create graphite portraits for each individual. Client buy-in was key, and once they were able to see the layout as we envisioned it, they were sold. By commissioning Randy Glass to create sketched headshots for MRI, 4x3 was able to bring a unique spin to an article about company recruiting.
By presenting a different perspective on corporate branding, we were able to create a unique - but professional - look and feel to the advertorial. The graphite illustrations also worked well with the news print format, providing quality and character to an otherwise formal news spread.

In a self-declared revolt against tyranny, Stephen Siano left his job and became an independent contractor.
The Eastern Pennsylvanian Rugby Union (EPRU) reached out to Stephen for a custom HTML website to host their rugby news and team/player profiles.
Realizing the company needed a website of its own, Stephen and Amy Siano put their heads heads together to pick the perfect name of the budding business. Thus, during the most American sporting event in the world (the Super Bowl) on the back of a used napkin, 4x3 was born in the USA.
After lending her design skills to 4x3 for years, Amy officially joined the confederation as the creative director. And, united under a single banner, 4x3 became a limited liability company (LLC).
Norris Sales Company signed on 4x3 to host and program their eCommerce website.
In a patriotic move, 4x3 joined forces with The National Arts Program to create a website to bring together thousands of artists from across the United States of America to their 100+ venues.
4x3 went full on colonial after being hired to re-design the Historic Odessa Foundation non-profit website. In an even bolder move, 4x3 took on our first completely pro-bono job designing, hosting and managing the Friends for Friends Charity website.
Working in a small home office, Amy and Stephen started hiring independent designers and writers to help with the ever-expanding workload.
In an inevitable Manifest Destiny, 4x3 officially hired its first full-time designer and, running out of space in their office, moved operations to the current office space in Ardmore.

4x3 partnered with The Heads of State on a web design project and proposal for our client, Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts. The professional relationship between the two studios has allowed for us to create a user-friendly, beautiful, and functional site.
As the technology partner, 4x3 works directly with The Heads of State from the beginning of each project, to determine the scope, define the site architecture, and consult on functionality. The Heads of State provides creative solutions, and 4x3 takes the lead on the programming and development.

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts
Usdan is a premier summer camp for the arts for pre-kindergarten to high school, specializing in programs that emphasize creativity, theater and dance, leadership, environmentalism and music. With nearly 70 classes and over 1,500 students each summer, Usdan guides every camper on a path of individual and creative growth, with the help of a team of artists and talented arts educators. The Usdan approach is distinctively interactive and hands-on, rooted in a balance between creative process, artistic practice, and craft on the one hand, and final product and performance on the other.
4x3 worked closely with The Heads of State to create a completely custom Drupal CMS for Usdan's dynamic and content-rich website. The CMS is completely responsive in design, assuring the site looks equally great on all screen sizes and devices.
